What are Airbrushed Aquarelle Lips?
Airbrushed Aquarelle Lips is a unique lip micropigmentation technique (also known as lip blushing) which enhances the look of your natural lip colour, creating more defined lips. Pigment is inserted into the top layer of the skin, leaving a soft and natural-looking tint. Your artist will create a custom pigment colour to suit your natural skin undertones and preferences.
Benefits of lip micropigmentation:
-
More defined, fuller looking lips without injections/fillers
-
Can help with lip asymmetry
-
Save time and money on makeup
-
Safe and sterile procedure
-
Not permanent; ideal as it allows you to change your look in the future as trends and your preferences change
How is it different than a tattoo?
Lip micropigmentation differs from traditional tattoos in many ways. This technique is done with a machine similar to a tattoo machine but only deposits pigment in the upper layer of the skin, making it only semi-permanent, and uses pigments specifically formulated for this type of service.
Who is it for?
This service delivers beautiful and natural results on all skin types. However, there are certain individuals who should NOT receive a semi-permanent makeup service and this includes those:
-
Breastfeeding or pregnant (anaesthetic not recommended)
-
Compromised immune system
-
Suffer from Type 1 Diabetes
-
On Accutane
-
On blood-thinners
-
Very low iron
-
Undergoing active chemotherapy
-
Individuals with skin conditions on or near the lip area (eczema, rosacea, dermatitis, shingles, etc.)
-
Prone to keloid scarring with minor injuries
-
Individuals who have just had Botox/fillers in the lip area (Micropigmentation service must be done 4 weeks before or after Botox/fillers)
-
Currently undergoing laser regenerative treatments on the lip area
-
Individuals with a fresh sunburn on the lip area
-
Large and deep scarring on the lips, usually due to burns or tragic accidents (Note: small scars such as old piercings or tiny childhood accidents are not an issue.)
-
Individuals with dark previous tattoo/PMU - previous work must be at least 70-80% faded
-
Individuals under the age of 18
How long does it last?
Lip micropigmentation last on average 2-5 years, depending on the individual. There are many factors that can affect the longevity of the treatment, such as skin type, sun exposure, skin care, medications etc.
