What are Combo Brows?
Combo Brow is a semi-permanent makeup technique that combines both Microblading and Ombre Powder techniques to achieve a result that's the best of both worlds! Get the natural-looking hair strokes from Microblading and the soft powder effect from Ombre. Pigment is inserted into the top layer of the skin (epidermis) using a manual tool for the hair strokes and a machine for the gradient powder effect. Your brow artist creates a custom shape and pigment colour to suit your face.

How is it different than a tattoo?
Semi-permanent makeup differs from a traditional tattoo in many ways. The hair-like strokes are made using a manual tool and the ombre effect is done with a machine similar to a tattoo machine. However, the pigment only gets deposited in the upper layer of the skin and only pigments specifically formulated to mimic real hair colour are used.
Who is it for?
Combo Brows are suitable for most skin types, however, the hair strokes created by the microblading tool may not be suitable for oily skin types. During your consultation, we will help you choose which service is best suited for you (Microblading, Ombre Powder, or Combo), to achieve ideal results. In addition, there are certain individuals who should NOT receive a permanent makeup service and this includes those:

Breastfeeding or pregnant

Compromised immune system
-
Suffer from Type 1 Diabetes

On Accutane
-
On blood-thinners
-
Very low iron
-
Undergoing active chemotherapy

Individuals with skin conditions on or near the brow area (eczema, rosacea, dermatitis, shingles, etc.)

Prone to keloid scarring

Individuals who have just had Botox/fillers near the eyebrows (Microblading service must be done 4 weeks before or after Botox/fillers)

Currently undergoing laser regenerative treatments on their face

Individuals with a fresh sunburn on brow area

Large and deep scarring on their eyebrows, usually due to burns or tragic accidents (Note: small scars such as old eyebrow piercings or tiny childhood accidents are not an issue.)

Individuals with dark previous brow tattoo/PMU - previous work must be at least 70-80% faded

Individuals under the age of 18
How long does it last?
Combo Brows last on average 1-3 years, depending on the individual. There are many factors that can affect the longevity of the treatment, such as skin type, sun exposure, skin care, medications etc.
